Tyrrell Park in Beaumont
Having an apple on a bridge near the "falls"
A Waterfall...
A Creek...
A Swamp...
A huge alligator
Five alligators in one shot!
Alligators, Snakes, Turtles, Wild Hogs, Migrating Birds... take a ride on the wild side. It's right here in Beaumont. When I discovered this portion of the park, that's exactly what I kept telling myself. (Pinch) I can't believe this is Beaumont... gee, can you believe you're in Beaumont.... I mean, we're in the city limits... of Beaumont...
This ride is exactly what you make of it. A map of the park looks like a lolly-pop. The main road in is like the stem and the 1.1 mile loop at the end is the "candy." If you want a road type ride, for beginners, the loop makes a quiet, safe haven for you to pound out a few miles without the constant threat of cars. If you want to stretch beyond that point, the farm roads in the area have been ridden by the locals for years. FM124 connects to Winnie and makes a great out-and-back.
Got Rocks? Wanna ride in the dirt? Again, looking at the map of the park, at about 9 o'clock on the loop, there's a dirt road that connects to a wetlands area. There are 6.5 miles of interconnecting levee type roads. Seasonally, there all types of birds that rest in those ponds as Tyrrell Park is a hospitable stop in their migratory pattern.
